One Response to “Is it possible to use vocal harmony processors as a guitar effect?”

      • Steve S says:

The reason instrument harmonizers don’t track well is due to harmonics and overtones inherent in the instrument. The human voice has less harmonic and overtone characteristics. That’s what makes the difference. If you were to use vocal harmony processors on a guitar, you would have the same problems as instrument harmonizers.

Hence, the reason for multi-tracking instruments in recording. The only reason to use harmonizers would be to enhance live performance, right? It would be senseless to do so on a recording when you can get a clean track via multi-tracking voices or instrument.
